July 20, 2005 Marketing 101 Creating a Reputable Image for Your Business ALIANZA members learned the basics of organizing a marketing plan from Nannette Rodríguez, President and Executive Creative Director for VIVAMEDIA Des Moines' only multilingual advertising agency. June 24, 2005 ALIANZA and the Neighborhood Development Corporation present: LatinEXPO ALIANZA members and other community businesses showcased their products and services at this first-ever Latin business and resource trade fair. The event attracted a large crowd and the attention of the local press by hosting the function at the site of the Latino Corridor, the downtown area soon to be transformed to become a vibrant Latino-owned business district. May 17, 2005 ALIANZA Membership General Meeting ALIANZA members had the opportunity to network and enjoy dinner at El Dorado Mexican Restaurant at 4345 Merle Hay Road. El Dorado is a member of ALIANZA and will be adding a special dish to their menu as ALIANZA's namesake. March 16, 2005 How to Prepare to Report Your Business Taxes with Ruben Arias Pe, Consultant This workshop provided information and useful tools to help busines owners understand the documentation and steps needed to prepare to report their taxes. February 9, 2005 Introduction to the Latino Corridor with Warren Morrow, Consultor Warren Morrow talked about the Latino Corridor Project to be developed on the East side of Des Moines by the summer of 2005.
